leoBeing retired gives me the time to sit back and observe the world from the quiet reaches of upstate New York. Much of what I see happening is annoying, even infuriating. Rather than drive my wife nuts by pontificating in her direction, I launched this blog. It is basically an extended rant—my take on events as they happen. Much of the content is material that I have posted at various sites including the New York Times, the New Yorker, Talking Points Memo. I welcome civil comments with full name; anonymous or abusive ones I will delete.

Leo: You are a nobody in this world as are most of the 99.9% of us on this rock and, who could care what you have to say about anything? You would be far better off “pontificating” to your wife who I pity greatly for having to endure her existence on this rock next to you. P.S. the only reason I came to your blog is that a fellow “greedy gasser” (your constant and unrelenting denigrating term for landowners and farmers who pay taxes on the mineral rights of their property who should gain from the nat gas under their land) told me of its existence. Rest assured I will not return as typing this post alone was 5 minutes of my life wasted : > )

That’s not a quick answer. I was a Russian linguist in the Air Force. Then I was a Physical Science Technician for fourteen years. After that I worked on instrument development at NASA. Finally I worked in business development.
